Opening December 18th! A Massive Media Facade Featuring Popular Characters

Get ready, Seoul! The Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), known for its futuristic architecture, is transforming into a giant stage of light this winter. The Seoul Design Foundation is hosting 'Seoul Light DDP 2025 Winter' from December 18th to 31st.

Under the theme "EVERGLOW," the event will turn the entire DDP area—not just the exterior walls—into a magical Christmas Town.

A Warm Winter with Light Art & Characters

This season, the DDP's media facade will feature collaborations with popular domestic and international characters, including Haechi & Soul Friends, LINE FRIENDS, and Yiayia & Friends.

While DDP has always been a laboratory for media art, this year is special. The show is designed to make it feel as if the characters inside the media facade are jumping out into the real space, offering a unique immersive experience. Christmas-themed works will play continuously, setting the perfect winter mood.

'HIP Santa' & Fantasy Opening Ceremony

Meet 'HIP Santa'

Throughout the DDP, you will find dazzling photo zones based on the concept of "HIP Santa" leaving gift bundles behind. The characters from the media facade extend into real-world spaces like Oullim Square, the Eight Junctions (Palgeori), and the Design Street, allowing citizens to experience the Christmas Town with all their senses.

Opening Ceremony

Dec 18th Don't miss the opening ceremony! "Iruda Black Toe Dance" and "Force Circus" will present a performance titled "Santa and the Nutcracker." This show will combine aerial performances and ballet with the character collaborations for a true Christmas fantasy.

The Hottest New Year's Eve in Seoul: Countdown 2026

December 31st The festival culminates on the last day of the year with 'Seoul Light DDP: New Year Countdown.' Known as a major countdown spot for the MZ generation, this event draws around 40,000 people annually.

This year, the countdown will be broadcast live worldwide via YouTube, featuring the world's largest atypical media facade.

• Star Power: ZO&FRIENDS (characters created by IPX and G-DRAGON) and global IP LINE FRIENDS will shout the countdown against the backdrop of Seoul's landmarks.

• After Party: The excitement will peak with a spectacular fireworks show, a DJ performance by comedian Park Myung-soo, and a concert by the band The Solutions.

The festival runs for 14 days with plenty of on-site events:
