Meet the Ocean Face-to-Face: SEA LIFE Busan Aquarium
A Refreshing Escape into the City's "Little Ocean"
When you think of Busan, Haeundae Beach is often the first destination that comes to mind. But if the scorching sun and hot sand feel a bit too intense, or if you simply prefer a cool, climate-controlled environment, there is a perfect alternative right on the beach.
Welcome to SEA LIFE Busan Aquarium, a refreshing indoor vacation spot hidden beneath the sands of Haeundae.

A Marine World Beneath the Beach
Located right at the entrance of Haeundae Beach, SEA LIFE Busan is a massive underground aquarium where you can meet over 10,000 marine animals representing 250 different species. The facility is renowned for its 80-meter-long seabed tunnel and two massive main tanks, divided into eight unique thematic zones.
The Journey Begins: From Rainforest to Deep Sea
As soon as you descend from the entrance, you are greeted by an interior illuminated with mysterious, colorful lighting. The journey starts with the freshwater zone.
• The Giant of the Amazon: Here, you will encounter the Pirarucu. Known as one of the largest freshwater fish in the world, its sheer size is awe-inspiring. If you visit during feeding time, watching these giants eat is a spectacle you cannot miss.
• Sea at 20m Depth: Moving deeper, you enter a zone designed to mimic the ocean at 20 meters deep. This area is famous for its mesmerizing Jellyfish Tank, illuminated by changing neon lights. Watching the jellyfish float rhythmically in the colorful water offers a unique sense of "healing" and visual peace.

The Highlight: Walking Underwater
The most popular section of the aquarium is undoubtedly the Seabed Tunnel. As you walk through this 180-degree transparent tunnel, you feel as though you are strolling along the ocean floor. Huge sharks glide slowly overhead, followed by schools of nameless fish, creating a scene that draws gasps of wonder from adults and children alike.

Shows and Spectacles
The aquarium offers more than just viewing; it offers interaction and entertainment.
• The Main Tank: This 7-meter deep oval tank is an engineering marvel, allowing you to clearly see the separation between surface-dwelling fish and deep-sea creatures.
• Mermaid Show: This is a favorite for families. The appearance of the "prince and mermaid" in the water captures the audience's imagination, telling a story that brings the fairytale to life.
• Feeding Shows: The highlight of the main tank is the feeding performance. Watching divers interact with and feed large sharks, sea turtles, and giant stingrays is a thrilling experience that keeps visitors glued to the glass.
Whether you are a couple looking for a romantic indoor date or a family seeking an educational adventure, SEA LIFE Busan Aquarium offers a magical underwater experience. Say goodbye to just looking at the sea surface; it is time to dive in.
