Introducing the New "Seoul Cinema Center" in Chungmuro - Free Movies Until March 2026!
Attention, movie lovers! A new landmark has risen in Chungmuro, the historic heart of Korean cinema.
The Seoul Cinema Center officially opened its doors on November 28th. It is not just a theater; it is a public cultural complex dedicated to independent and art films, offering screenings, exhibitions, education, and networking all in one place. Best of all? Movie screenings are FREE until March 2026!

What is the Seoul Cinema Center?
Located at 38 Mareunnae-ro, Jung-gu, the center spans from 3 floors underground to 10 floors above ground. It is designed to be a hub where creators and citizens can connect through film.
Floor Guide:
• B1–B2: Theater 1 (166 seats) – Equipped with two 35mm film projectors for authentic film screenings.
• 2F–3F: Theater 2 (78 seats) – Features "Comfort Seats" for a relaxed viewing experience.
• 4F: Cinema Lounge (Special Exhibition Hall) – A space for film-related exhibitions and interactive content.
• 5F–6F: Theater 3 (68 seats) – Premium "Recliner Seats" for ultimate comfort.
• 7F: Multipurpose Room – Used for film education and workshops.
• 8F: Shared Office – A space to support filmmakers' creative activities.
• 9F: Archive – A library for film books and DVDs.
• 10F: Cinema Sky (Rooftop Theater) – An open-air space for outdoor screenings and events.

To celebrate its opening, the Seoul Cinema Center is offering free movie screenings to everyone until March 2026.
Current & Upcoming Programs:
• Sidus 30th Anniversary Special (Until Dec 14): Watch iconic Korean films like Christmas in August, Il Mare, and Beat.
• Ahn Sung-ki Special (Dec 20–31): A retrospective of 10 major films featuring the legendary Korean actor.
• Independent & Art Films of the Year: A showcase of outstanding Korean independent and art films from the past year.
How to Book:
You can reserve tickets via the Seoul Cinema Center website(link). Simply select the movie, date, and time. You will receive a mobile reservation number to exchange for a ticket on-site.

Must-Visit: Pop-up Exhibition & Photo Zones
Don't miss the inaugural pop-up exhibition "SEOUL, FILM AND CANVAS" on the 4th floor (running until Feb 28, 2026).
• It features 9 films set in Seoul, including Architecture 101 and Oldboy.
• You can step into recreated scenes from movies like Christmas in August (Chowon Photo Studio) and take free vintage-style photos as if you were the main character!
